The Challenge
The Center's previous website wasn't keeping up with its audience or its operations. Visitors struggled to find information, buy tickets, or register for programs. The design no longer reflected the Center's innovative mission or appealed to its diverse audiences. And behind the scenes, a poorly connected CMS and Tessitura integration made it hard for staff to manage ticketing, memberships, and donor data efficiently. The goal was a modern, flexible website that simplified things for visitors and staff alike.
The Approach
Jixaw rebuilt the website from the ground up, with usability, integration, and future scalability at the centre of every decision. Key features included:
Modern, Responsive Design: A clean, mobile-friendly layout that makes it easy for visitors to explore exhibits, buy tickets, and plan their visit on any device.
Self-Service Tools: Visitors can purchase tickets, register for programs, and manage their own experience without needing staff assistance.
Seamless Tessitura Integration: A new Umbraco CMS connected directly to Tessitura, ensuring real-time updates to ticket availability, pricing, and membership data.
Staff Empowerment: The CMS was designed for non-technical users, with training provided so staff could confidently manage content and events without IT support.
Future-Ready Structure: Built with flexibility in mind, the site can scale and adapt as the Center's needs evolve.
The Outcome
The redesigned website delivered improvements across the board. Visitors can now easily find information, register for programs, and purchase tickets on a site that reflects the Center's innovative spirit. A responsive design significantly increased use by mobile visitors. Staff can update content quickly, manage events with ease, and rely on accurate real-time data from Tessitura. And with a stable, scalable foundation in place, the Arizona Science Center is set up to grow.
